[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Mango Zabba is a four-headed psychedelic outfit hailing from Utrecht. The members have found each other through a jamsession.  Iason and Joris started the band, Lars joined in shortly after and Reinier was asked to join on the bass. In honour to both the mango-fruit and to space, this new collaboration has been named Mango Zabba. The full names and roles of the musicians are Lars Bergman (vocals/freaky guitar), Iason Georgiou (guitar), Reinier Wiskerke (bass) and Joris Regterschot (drums).

You might have heard Mango Zabba play during one of their gigs on a surf-camp party along the French coast during the summer of ‘16, somewhere in the Netherlands, or on their new EP .  The EP, nameless but already legendary, has been recorded in only one night in Dirt Studios in Amsterdam and was released in May. New tracks are already in the process of being mix and mastered, though and the awaital for the bands new songs will be short.

Mango Zabba plays their own blend of rock and blues against a psychedelic setting. The way in which they do so, is ‘something else’. The band members’ musical backgrounds are quite diverse, but vary mainly from indie-/post-rock to psych-punk and the likes. The punk/space rock attitude in Zabba’s music is very present in the rawness of their sound, yet in a more sophisticated way. To enhance the full experience of these four musketeers, a live show will have to be attended.

Mango Zabba -when observed closely- gives the impression of being more of a community, than a band per se. On the event of Frequenzy session for example, they brought some friends with them; a (for this session non-active) sound engineer, their manager Rosalie and least to forget: Loophole Visuals (Rene T. Hart). Rene is a multi-facet artist that has worked- and still works together with the band on several ocassions. For the Frequenzy session he had set up a unique visual installation and projected his live-video art on three screens.

Check out Mango Zabba’s session with us, which will go online the 5th of october.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
