Tonight at online festival Noorderslag you can check out the best upcoming acts from The Netherlands. Indie rock band The Vices is certainly one of the bands for whom a show at ESNS can be that well deserved big breakthrough. Their garage pop is a mix between Cage the Elephant, The Growlers and The Strokes, something evident on singles ‘Boy’ and ‘Sly Smiled Berlin Child’. These tracks made the band 3FM Talent (on Dutch national radio) and can be found on the 2020 EP.

Acoustic enrichment from the deep

Humpback whales singing, sperm whales clicking, weddell seals courting, coral reefs spluttering, bucktoothed parrot fish crunching, an oyster toad fish grunting, shrimp snapping, long horned sculpins honking, blue whales lamenting and haddock drumming. The music from Cosmo Sheldrake’s upcoming EP “Wild Wet World” is composed entirely out of recordings of these animals and the sound worlds that they inhabit.
