“Heaving” is the first musical departure from Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys’ recent tape series. The album is a vivid, visceral, and unbounded exploration of sonic storytelling. Relying on the idea articulated by poet and essayist Anne Carson that “Every sound we make is a bit of autobiography. It has a totally private interior yet its trajectory is public. A piece of inside projected to the outside”, Kruger dove into the composition process through performance, rather than with the pen. The album offered the artist and hopes to offer the audience, a coming home to the body through a physical relationship to sound.

Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys is an art pop noise project fronted by Berlin-based/South African born musician, Lucy Kruger.

Acoustic enrichment from the deep

Humpback whales singing, sperm whales clicking, weddell seals courting, coral reefs spluttering, bucktoothed parrot fish crunching, an oyster toad fish grunting, shrimp snapping, long horned sculpins honking, blue whales lamenting and haddock drumming. The music from Cosmo Sheldrake’s upcoming EP “Wild Wet World” is composed entirely out of recordings of these animals and the sound worlds that they inhabit.

Estranging & immersive Swarm

No new Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) tracks. But it is definitely there. The soundtrack of Glovers & Janine Nabers’ new series ‘Swarm’ is like the story: estranging & yet immersive.
