Futura Free: Indie rock with the spacey ambience of dream pop

There’s a lot to like here, maybe even a few things to love! Futura Free is an indie pop project based in Kingston, ON. The band combines the catchy hooks of indie rock with the spacey ambience of dream pop.

Having just moved to a completely new city without much of a plan, Futura Free was started by Peter Luft in a makeshift studio space in his girlfriend’s basement. Peter cut his teeth on recording and mixing albums by his previous band, and brings that experience Futura Free, along with a slew of new influences and collaborators. Not long after, Kevin Feeley (guitar), Bobby Benevides (drums), and Gabriel Reeves (bass) rounded out the lineup and marked the shift from a solo recording project to fully fledged indie rock band.

January 2019 was the release of their debut album “Unreal”
