Music for your west coast soul: Carmanah

Like the rainforests from which their name derives, the steady beat of the west coast can be found within the sound of Carmanah. From muddy, blues-funk to light, soaring harmonies, Carmanah creates music that curves and tumbles through valleys and over peaks, guiding the listener on a celebratory sonic journey. We’ve added one of their songs to our coffee break playlist listen here.

The band recently recorded a session at a special place known as Dan’s Hall.  It’s a private dance hall that once was crafted by a music fan called Dan. He built the hall to bring together local folk dance groups and musicians for classes, jams and community events.
