Is there still anything fun to report about America these days? Well, you have to look for the bright spots, but SXSW and the new music it brings are definitely among them. SXSW is the largest showcase festival in the world, and in less than one month from now (March 7-15), it will kick off once again.

This year, we came across a familiar name in the lineup: Weird Bloom from Rome. This band includes Edu, whom we spoke to during our Far Out podcast. He founded with friends and colleagues the Pom Pom Studio—a collective of musicians who develop different projects, sometimes together, sometimes individually, with collaboration as the foundation of their creativity. Weird Bloom is a perfect example of this synergy.

With their hippie melodies and pumping early ‘70s drum grooves, the band perfectly captures the ‘60s and ‘70s vibe—something that, especially in America, feels more relevant and needed than ever right now.
