Le Fomo will rattle your guts with their rawness and cradle you with their catchy riffs! They contain, like Dylan and Whitman, but in their own different way, multitudes. Le Fomo is gender expansive & genre expansive. Le Fomo is new wave & punk, from Oakland California and most important; Le Fomo is refreshing retro. They make some fresh sounding electro trash pop with a nice classic eighties club vibe. Last week the duo released “Tiny Anchor,” the second single of their upcoming debut album “Swallow Me Whole.”

Le Fomo consists of 2 multi talented artists: Ess Nelson (vocals, lyrics, synths, bass, beats, arrangement) and Kai Hofius (guitar, drums, lyrics, bass). Together they create a sound that is uplifting and energetic. Everything comes perfectly together in the song “Tiny Anchor” and the accessory animated video, which is made by Crystal Swamp Studios.

But there is more about Le Fomo than a catchy sound. Don’t be fooled by the punchy mix of ’80s and ’90s nostalgia. The message of the song “Tiny Anchor” goes further than a frivolous i-love-u/i-miss-you. “Tiny Anchor is a song about navigating intimacy,” the band explains in New Noise. “It can be hard to see that someone loves you when your traumatic or fear based thinking patterns get in the way. An interaction can easily feel like rejection when we’re on high alert. It‘ll send us off spinning. I like to ‘throw a tiny anchor’ to slow things down, to take some emotional space to understand what’s happening without tanking the whole ship.”

“Tiny Anchor” and also the first single “NOTDF (Nip On The DanceFloor)” from the upcoming album were both critically acclaimed in the indie music media.“Swallow Me Whole” will contain 9 songs in total. The album will be released on September 25. So stay tuned and pre-order! “Swallow Me Whole” Pre-order sales are open now here.

Acoustic enrichment from the deep

Humpback whales singing, sperm whales clicking, weddell seals courting, coral reefs spluttering, bucktoothed parrot fish crunching, an oyster toad fish grunting, shrimp snapping, long horned sculpins honking, blue whales lamenting and haddock drumming. The music from Cosmo Sheldrake’s upcoming EP “Wild Wet World” is composed entirely out of recordings of these animals and the sound worlds that they inhabit.
